Sollinger Sporting Fun

Both in the spacious grounds of the youth hostel and in the immediate vicinity, sports enthusiasts are offered outstanding possibilities for training and woodland runs. A football pitch directly alongside the DJH hostel can be hired, as can training facilities in the Sportpark and Sporthalle (Sports Hall).

The surrounding area also boasts an indoor swimming pool, tennis courts and a modern minigolf facility (in the summer months), while there are also bowling alleys and skittle alleys in the neighbouring town of Neuhaus.

Mountain bikers with athletic ambitions are well served by the 7.3 km long mountain- bike course between Neuhaus and Silberborn. Narrow single trails, a former quarry, gravelled forest tracks, integrated jumps and thrilling downhill stretches keep the bikers' pulses racing.

In winter, at an altitude of 350 to 520 metres, Hochsolling is nothing less than a paradise for cross-country skiing. Eleven single cross-country trails with lengths of from 4 to 17 kilometres are regularly tracked by machines. There is a tobogganing hill close to the DJH youth hostel, while in nearby Neuhaus there is a 300-metre ski lift.
