The enchantment of the mixed woodland; the silence of the high-moor bog

The fabulous Solling-Vogler Nature Reserve: At the state-recognised climatic health resort of Silberborn you can have a great time indulging in sport, having fun or simply relaxing. Wonderful hiking trails take you through magnificently coloured mixed woodland in what is probably the biggest and most beautiful unbroken stretch of forest and hiking area in North Germany.

Silberborn is an ideal centre for a whole variety of activities, such as an intensive exploration of Mecklenbruch, one of the largest high-moor bogs in Lower Saxony. A stay amid the original and unspoilt landscape of Hochsolling, untouched by industry and the hustle and bustle of everyday life, is a very special experience at any time of the year.

In summer there is the attraction of hiking in the nature reserve or excursions along the route of the river Weser, with cities and sites of cultural and historic interest. In winter, Solling offers good opportunities for winter sports – especially for visitors to the Silberborn district of Torfhaus, the highest village in Hochsolling.
