From hiking trail to canoeing tours

Welcome to you hikers: With the "Niedersachsen-Wanderweg" (Lower Saxony Hiking Trail) and the "Europäischer Fernwanderweg Nr. 1" (European Long-Distance Hiking Trail No. 1), no less than two long-distance hiking trails pass directly through Müden/Örtze. And if your taste is for even more trails, the kilometre-wide hiking-trail network of the Naturpark Südheide (Südheide Nature Reserve) is there for all to enjoy.

Trekking cyclists truly "experience" the extensive cycle-trail network which links the most beautiful moorland areas of the Lüneburger Heath: The Wacholderwald near Schmarbeck, the Halbslohheide between Niederohe and Lutterloh and the heathland area on the Haußelberg. We would be pleased to arrange rental cycles for your trekking tours.

Water enthusiasts can romp in the (heated) open-air swimming pool at nearby Faßberg, while the Müdener Heidesee (lake) welcomes sailors and paddlers and the river Örtze offers environmentally-friendly exploration by canoe. By the way: We would also be pleased to recommend you to local canoe-rental offices.
