For our guests and for the environment

The DJH National Association Hanover considers itself as responsible for taking effective measures to protect both its guests and the environment. And we are quite happy to pay more for that commitment, because we think that in doing so we are implementing the right policy in the interest of our youth and the future of our country.

All youth hostels belonging to the DJH National Association Hanover are supplied by Greenpeace energy with clean electricity from renewable sources. As neither nuclear energy nor fossil energy is used for the generation of our power supplies, we save our environment more than one million kilograms of CO₂emissions every year.

In order to offer our guests the greatest possible health safety, we use exclusively bedding featuring the Öko-Tex Standard 100, which documents testing for carcinogenic dyes, formaldehyde, softeners, heavy metals and pentachlorophenol, pesticides, allergising dyes and organotin compounds, and which also boasts a skin-friendly pH value.

As further protection for our guests, smoking is forbidden in all youth hostels in the DJH National Association Hanover.
