How to get to the youth hostel

By rail: From the railway station take bus number 1 (in the direction of Himmelsthür) and get off at the Schuhstraße stop. From there, take bus number 4 (in the direction of Bockfeld) and get off at the Triftstraße bus stop. After crossing the street at the traffic lights, follow Triftstraße on foot up the hill (for about 15 minutes) to the youth hostel.

Groups can ease their arrival and departure by arranging for baggage transport (can be booked by telephoning 05121 55555) to/from the railway station. On request, Stadtwerke Hildesheim (Tel. 05121 508365) will also be pleased to quote for a charter bus from the railway station to the hostel.

By bus and car: Leave the A7 motorway at the Hildesheim exit (not Hildesheim-Drispenstedt) and then take the B1 towards the town centre. Stay on the B1 and continue on past the roundabout towards the town centre, then drive through the centre and on until you see a Mercedes dealer on the right hand side. Here you leave the B1, crossing it again in a 270° curve, and follow Himmelsthürer Straße. After approximately 1 km you will see a chemist's shop on the left hand side of the road and after another approximately 150 m. you will come to traffic lights. Turn right at the lights into Triftstraße and drive up the hill. The youth hostel is on the right hand side of the road in Schirrmannweg, just before you get to the forest.
