Hamelin is an ideal destination for all tourists, because both the city and the general area offer a wealth of sights and events to fill a stay of several days. The Pied Piper does of course also play a central role:

On the terrace of the Hochzeitshaus in summer, the "Pied Piper Open-Air Plays" are staged every Sunday and the short musical "Rats" on Wednesdays. At the same venue, the Pied Piper figure play backed by the Pied Piper glockenspiel can be seen all the year round and city tours can be taken in the company of not only experienced hostesses but also with none other than the Pied Piper in person.

With its permanent exhibitions, the Hamelin Museum situated right in the centre of the historical old town offers you a wealth of interesting information on the legend of the Pied Piper, the city's history and the minting and distribution of coinage.

More culture can be enjoyed on visits to the many historical buildings from the period of the Weser Renaissance or to the Hamelin theatre. The (guest) performances included opera, operetta, plays, ballet, concerts, children's plays, modern dance and musicals.
