Simply fantastic and as close as it gets: birds of prey up close can be experienced on guided tours of the Bispingen Raptor Reserve. Among the attractions at the Lüneburg Heath game park are the comical raccoons, gregarious marmots and Arctic wolves, while you can visit lions, tigers and monkeys at the Serengeti Park.

Just as tempting for a visit are the amusement parks such as Heidepark Soltau with its exciting rides, shows and entertainment spots.

Visual instruction of a contemplative nature is offered by the "Dat ole Hus" local heritage museum (Heimatmuseum), for example illustrating the life of heathland folk in past centuries. The "Iserhatsche" landscape park and the "Ehrhorn" forest-adventure centre also extend visitors' cultural-history horizons, as do the burial mounds dating from the Bronze Age and the old staircased store (Treppenspeicher) in nearby Volkwardingen and the "Ole Kerk" ("Old Church") dating from 1561.
